I was quite familiar with jazz history, but still learned some things from the narrative; but, more than that, the numerous descriptions of pieces was incredibly helpful. No eBook available Amazon. So many kudos to DeVeaux’s history for not disregarding my heroes. This excellent book, which not feveaux addresses musical theory but provides insight into the history of the art as well, will serve the general reader but can also be used to stimulate discussion dcott and jazz workshops.
