There was a problem adding your email address. This is my very first bat fiction story that I’ve read, and it had made me have a taste for bat stories! We had a family friend who knew Roald Dahl – one of my favourite authors – and this friend offered to show Dahl my story.
Part four- after about boring pages of nothingness, we find ourselves in the perspective of different animals, Goth and Throbb, I believe were their names who are the main antagonists of the book. Probably the best part of Silverwing is the characters. Unlike the other Silverwings, she does not ridicule Shade for his size and even shows him the secret Echo Chamber.

Many years ago I read the prequel to this series by Kenneth Oppel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Animal fantasy using bats as the main characters – you have to be creative to pull something like that off. While I don’t think the overall story is quite kennerh enjoyable nor the secondary characters as well-deve It was initially hard for me warm to the idea of a book with bat protagonists not that I don’t like bats–I’m just not a big “novels about animals” girl but I loved Oppel’s “Airborn” series and was eager for more of his work.
